n8n is an open-source workflow automation platform — the same job as Zapier or Make, except it self-hosts on your own server. That matters for three reasons: your data never leaves your infrastructure, there is no per-task pricing that punishes you for scaling, and every node can run custom JavaScript, so a workflow is never capped by what the vendor shipped.
